Jamile Cazumbá
Jamile Cazumbá is a visual artist and researcher that grew up in the Palestine neighbourhood of Salvador, Brazil. A graduate of Museology (UFRB), she is a collaborating artist and coordinator of the project Disobedient Practices, as well as the coordinator and producer of the research group and Cineclub extension Mario Gusmão, and a member of the Angela Davis Collective. She is part of the editorial and curatorial body of the magazine Gravidade. Jamile transits in the midst of many fields of art, like performing arts, curation, production, and cinema. She is currently dedicated mainly to her performative-ritual-recitals, which investigate memories anchored in the bodies of black women and its confluence with visual expression, through performance, drawing, and language.
Jamile Cazumbá é artista visual e pesquisadora, vivida no bairro da Palestina (Salvador-BA). É graduanda em Museologia (UFRB), artista e coordenadora do Projeto Práticas Desobedientes, coordenadora e produtora do Grupo de Pesquisa e Extensão Cineclube Mário Gusmão e integrante do Coletivo Angela Davis. Faz parte do corpo editorial e curatorial da Revista Gravidade. Transita por diversos campos das artes, como cênicas, curadoria, produção e cinema. Atualmente dedica-se principalmente ao seus rituais-recitais-performáticos, que investigam memórias inscritas nos corpos de mulheres negras e sua confluência com as expressões visuais, tendo como suporte a performance, o desenho e a linguagem.
