Guillermo Monteforte has participated in audiovisual and radio production and training for indigenous organizations and communities for more than 30 years. He is a documentary filmmaker, editor and photographer, and participated in the design and implementation of the Programme for the Transfer of Audiovisual Media to Indigenous Communities and Organizations of the National Indigenous Institute and started and directed the Indigenous Video Center in Oaxaca. He is a founding partner of Ojo de Agua Comunicación, an independent organization that produces radio and video programmes, promotes the appropriation of media in indigenous communities and organizations, does advocacy work on public policies and encourages the dissemination of video and radio to promote self-expression and autonomy for indigenous peoples and other minoritized groups.
